Kuching ART to be served with 55 feeder Hydrogen busses

Sarawak Metro has confirmed that they will be preparing 55 busses to act as Kuching feeder busses for the first phase of the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART).

The first phase of the KUTS ART or more popularly called Kuching ART, includes the Blue Line, Red Line, and Green Line, spanning 69.9 km and covering 35 stations.

The Blue Line will connect Rembus to Stutongand it should be ready by the end of 2025 with the second stage connectinig Stutong to Hikmah Exchange Station.

The Red Line will connect Kuching Sentral to Pending with operations scheduled in 2026 while the Green Line will connect Pending to Damai Central.

According to a brief video shared on their official TikTok, the company said that these feeder busses will serve Kuching ART riders within 3KM-5KM radius of a particular ART station.

The move will see ART stations well connected to schools, commercial areas, education institutions, popular destinations and housing areas.

The company added that these feeder busses are therefore aimed to increase the coverage area of the KUTS ART.

The video indirectly answers questions and concerns from many in regards to the KUTS ART as many had noticed that most of the Kuching ART stations are quite far apart from each other.

Also, Sarawak Metro has been giving free Hydrogen Bus services in Kuching for the past years to test its suitability in Kuching.
