Inter-district permits now from police, no more home-quarantine for new arrivals

The Sarawak Disaster Committee today announced that those making inter-district travel, will need to get their permits from nearby police stations.

The move will begin from 3rd April 2020.

Previously, it was announced on 30th March 2020 that such permits would be obtained from district offices.

Those holding permits from District Offices will also need to have their permits validated by nearby police stations.

This means that those wanting to travel to and from Kuching will need to obtain their respective permits from local police stations before entering, or leaving Kuching district.

The committee also announced that Sarawak will follow the federal government ending the 14-day self-quarantine requirement for incoming travelers.

Instead, incoming travelers will now be quarantined at selected quarantine centers once the arrive into Sarawak, including Kuching.

This new quarantine measure will begin this 5th April 2020.
