Borneo Cultures Museum entrance fee announced
The massive Borneo Cultures Museum has announced it’s official entrance fee rates via an official posting on its social media site.
According to the management of the museum, the rates apply from 1 August 2022.
This comes after the museum management extended the free three months entry to the museum after it was officially declared open in March 2022.
The fees to enter the Borneo Cultures Museum will be divided into three tiers with Sarawakians enjoying the lowest rates.
Aside from that, Malaysian children and those with disabilities will still get to enter the museum for free, while others will need to pay nominal fees.
Borneo Cultures Museum said that fees can be paid with S-Pay and cash at the entrance of the museum.
The fees are as seen below.
Cheap entrance fees
The fees are anything but expensive as they are priced well below what many would expect for such a museum. Honestly, I was expecting entry fees to start at RM50 given the stature of the museum and the huge maintenance cost it needs.
Anyway, as the infographics above show, Sarawakians will enjoy the cheapest rates to visit the museum, while Malaysians who are non-Sarawakians will be charged double.
For non-Malaysians, the fees go up five times from what Sarawakians are charged.
This practice is not new as different tier pricing is practiced in many tourist attraction around the globe.
