BOMBA Station for Batu Kawa needs to wait

State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) plans to set up a new station at Batu Kawa but this would take time as the satellite town is still considered as new and growing, hence not given priority.

While waiting Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian – who is Batu Kawah assemblyman – had proposed the setup of a ‘volunteer fire station’.

Volunteer fire stations had their own independent building equipped with facilities such as pick-ups, pumps and hoses, and are capable of providing basic firefighting and search-and-recovery (SAR) services.

It is understood that at least RM5 million would be required for a Category C facility, which is equal to Lundu BOMBA Station.
