Bako National Park soon to be improved
The Bako National Park, or ‘Pearl of the South’ as it is fondly known, would enjoy upgrading work which would see better accommodation and trails available in the park in the coming future.
The upgrades are expected to give maximum comfort to visitors at the well known national park which is frequented by foreign tourist.
Aside from that, the park management is looking into adding some new attractions including introducing a ‘sea cruise’, bird-watching in the park, crocodile watching and the promotion and development of the lesser-known Pulau Lakei which is an island located in the northern tip of the national park that also houses the mausoleum of Datuk Haji Ibrahim.
Haji Ibrahim was a well-respected man said to have resided on the island more than three centuries ago. Pulau Lakei is currently closed due to safety issues.
