93 more CCTVs to go online in Kuching soon

Kuching will soon have an additional 93 Close Circuit Televisions (CCTV) when these devices are connected to power.

The 93 CCTVs are part of some 210 CCTV locations located in Kuching and Samarahan.

According to DayakDaily, these CCTVs are part of the Kuching Smart City initiative, and they are now waiting for Sarawak Energy to power them up to allow them to operate.

The Kuching Smart City Initiative is under the purview of the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) with aim to improve the standard of living in Kuching through the use of technology.

The installation of CCTVs in Kuching is not new with local councils working with numerous agencies to get it done faster to reduce crime and make Kuching a safer place to live in.
