voco Kuching officially opens as IHG Hotels & Resorts makes Sarawak debut
IHG Hotels & Resorts has officially opened voco Kuching, marking the debut of the voco brand in Malaysia and the company’s first hotel in Sarawak.
According to IHG Hotels & Resorts, voco Kuching has welcomed its first guests, representing the hospitality group’s return to Kuching after a 16-year absence and its first operational property in Sarawak.
The hotel is also the first voco-branded property in Malaysia.
The hotel offers 321 guest rooms and forms part of a 12-storey mixed-use development undertaken in partnership with Malaysian property developer Elica Equity Sdn Bhd.
The project was first announced by IHG in December 2024 before opening in June 2026.
Located approximately five minutes from Kuching International Airport and around 15 minutes from Kuching city centre, the hotel is positioned to serve both business and leisure travellers.
According to the hotel’s official information, facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, meeting and event spaces, complimentary Wi-Fi, two dining outlets and guest parking.
IHG said the opening reflects the continued expansion of its premium voco brand, which the company describes as its fastest-growing premium hotel brand globally.
The hotel joins IHG Hotels & Resorts’ international portfolio as the company’s first operating property in Sarawak.
