The beautiful new St Ann Padawan church set to have soft opening this 8th
The newly completed St Ann Padawan new chuch in Kota Padawan would be having it’s soft opening this coming December 8th, which coincides with the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Blessed Virgin Mary.
The mass which will be celebrated by Bishop Simon Poh would start at 7:30PM.
St Ann Padawan’s new church sit’s at the side of Kota Padawan, on a piece of land owned by the church.
The unique Catholic church is styled according to the Bidayuh Baruk, and is indeed one of the most beautiful churches in Sarawak.
Below are a few images of the interior of the church which we managed to grab from the official site.
According to what we know, the official opening of the new church was scheduled on Christmas day this year. The church has however confirmed with us that the official opening, which will be the grand opening, would be made on a later date next year, and it will be announced later.
The parishioners of St Ann have been waiting for a new church to replace the old ‘baruk style chapel’ for almost 39 years, and donations from the public, as well as help from the Sarawak and Malaysian government has finally enabled them to complete the long awaited beautiful church.
Despite the completion of the new church which is the main building of an entire church complex, St Ann Padawan is still in need of more donations from the public to complete their church complex which has other important facilities.
Therefore, those interested to make a donation can do so by visiting their official website www.stannpadawan.org.
