St. Joseph’s Family of Schools Concert Band had recently won the Thailand World Music Championships (TWMC) 2022 – Virtual Category.
The Thailand World Music Championships (TWMC) 2022 was organised by The Marching Band Association of Thailand in partnership with the World Marching Band Organisation (WMBO) and Asian Marching Band Confederation (AMBC).
The virtual championship this year features 8 bands from Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia and were judged by experienced judges from Thailand and United States of America (USA).
St. Joseph’s Family of Schools Concert Band was represented with almost half of the band members aged 13 years old and below.
For the competition, they performed The Colonel Bogey March (by Kenneth J. Alford), Romanesque (by James Swearingen) and The Marines’ Hymn (arranged by Jerry Brubaker), enough to secure them the win.
The prize giving ceremony took place in Sisaket, Thailand on 16th December 2022 and the band was represented by their Band & Music Director, Wilson Tan.
