R&R Jelukong becomes first 24-hour Pan Borneo Highway rest stop

The long-awaited Kawasan Rest and Recreation (R&R) Jelukong in Sri Aman is now fully operational, providing a much-needed stop for travelers along the Pan-Borneo Highway.
This new facility, opened in last July 2025, is now a 24 hour facility with JKR Sarawak making the announcement on their social media accouont.
The facility is a significant addition to the highway’s infrastructure, offering essential services and a place to rest for motorists on their long journeys.
A vital stop on the Pan Borneo Highway
Located in the Sri Aman Division, R&R Jelukong has been a highly anticipated project aimed at enhancing the comfort and safety of road users.
For years, the lack of proper rest stops along certain stretches of the Pan Borneo Highway has been a concern, making long drives challenging for many.
The new R&R addresses this issue head-on by providing a safe and clean environment for drivers to take a break, stretch their legs, and refresh themselves.
Modern facilities for all travelers
The R&R is equipped with a range of modern public facilities, including:
- Vehicle parking areas for cars, buses, and lorries
 - Clean public restrooms
 - Surau (prayer rooms) for Muslim travelers

The facility also has food stalls and commercial spaces, which are handled by the Majlis Daerah Lubok Antu (MDLA), which acts as the local authority for the stop.
Part of a larger plan
The construction of R&R Jelukong is part of a broader government initiative to build multiple rest and service areas along the Pan Borneo Highway.
So far, there are two more in plans, namely in Sungai Arip in Balingian and Lambir in Miri.
