The Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) announced recently that the popular Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) will organized its physical concert this 2022. The news was carried by DayakDaily.
This comes after the award winning music festival was forced to be held via live streaming for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The festival will be organized from June 17 to 19 at the Sarawak Cultural Village.
Hybrid event for RWMF 2022
The festival will also take a hybrid format, in which festival goers can also watch the concert from the comfort of their homes, or watch experience the festival physically from the grounds of the Sarawak Cultural Village.
STB has also announced that this years theme will be ‘25th Legendary Rainforest Celebration’, which signifies its Silver Jubilee (25 years) since the festival started in 1998.
Performer list
The RMWF 2022 is expected to have performers from Canada, India, USA, Finland, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, China, Bhutan, South Korea and Malaysia.
The final list of performers will be announced closer to the festival date.
Tickets for RMWF 2022
The number of entry tickets sold for the physical event this year will however will be limited to just 5,000 a day.
The limit of tickets sales is to allow crowd control which must be in line with current Standard Operating Procedures.
Early bird tickets for the physical concert are now on sale but prices of the tickets are as seen below.
- Adult 1-Day Pass: RM150
- Adult 3-Day Pass: RM375
- Child 1-Day Pass: RM80
- Child 3-Day Pass: RM155
- 1-Day Family Package Pass for two adults and two children: RM 400
- Virtual show : RM25
