Pay & Go payment now available in Proton infortainment head unit
Drivers of Proton cars, specifically X70 and soon other X-Series Proton vehicles, can now use Pay & Go on their infortainment head unit to pay for their parking fees and exit a select 33 locations in Malaysia.
Currently, there’s 33 locations which support such option, most being in Kuching, Sarawak.
This means if you drive a Proton X70, you need not use the Pay & Go app on your phone, but instead pay directly using your Proton infortainment head unit (IHU).
For now, Proton X70 with ATLAS1 IHU has first dibs to enjoy this innovative integration, but it is understood that Pay & Go will soon expand its presence to connect more X-Series Proton models, before they move on to other models by Proton.
The update will be done via over-the-air (OTA) software updates for other selected Proton infortainment head unit.
This facility is available with immediate use after ACO Tech, a company jointly owned by Proton, Altel, and ECARX, announced the integration of Sarawak’s homegrown smart payment solution Pay & Go with its ATLAS IHU software.
The ATLAS IHU software is the software included in Proton’s X70 models.
This new venture, first-of-its-kind partnership in Malaysia, will provide seamless off-street parking payments for motorists, starting in Sarawak.
The parnership was formalised via a Product Integration Agreement (PIA) with the PIA exchange ceremony done between ACO Tech Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Li Pu, and Pay & Go Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Eddie Wee.
The exchange was witnessed by the Premier of Sarawak, YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, Mr. Roslan Abdullah.
It was held at the World Congress on Innovation & Technology 2023 (WCIT 2023) in Kuching, Sarawak.
