PAM and HSL announce AIR architectural competition judges
Seven professional judges selected to pick winner in two stages of judging
The on-going AIR architectural competition panel of judges were made konwn by Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM) and Hock Seng Lee (HSL).
According to HSL’s press statement, there would be seven professionals across Malaysia which include the esteemed PAM Gold Medalist Dato Ar Hajeedar Abdul Majid, and Ar Tan Bee Eu, one of the youngest PAM multi-award winners.
Also in the panel of judges is Notable Green Building Index specialist Ar David Ong and two HSL directors, Tony Yu and Yu Ji.
Malaysian Architects’ Institute (PAM) president and jury chair, Ar Adrianta Aziz, and Architect Ar Chai Long Sen, make up the seven judges for this competition.
The competition which is better known as AIR competition, is the second PAM x HSL collaboration, with registrations to the competition opened on June 10. The national competition is to find the best masterplan for a 13 acre land between Kuching International Airport and established developments.
The competition will see the judge choosing the winning design through two stages, an anonymous round in September in Kuala Lumpur, and the presentation session between shortlisted architects to the panel at HSL Tower in Kuching.
PAM x HSL stated that the jury would evaluate entries based on Planning Concept and Ideas (with a score of 50%), Design Innovation (30%) and Sustainability (20%).
Results are expected towards year end, with prizes totalling RM245,000.
