The first ever Orchid Conference in Kuching
The first ever Orchid Conference in Malaysia would be happening soon in Kuching.
If you are, then you can attend 13th Asia Pacific Orchid Conference (APOC-13) which will be held for the first time in Kuching in July next year.
The theme of the five day conference is ‘Cultural Exchange Through Orchid’, and it will be held from 24th July 2019 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
35 of local and international speakers are expected to be featured during the Asia Pacific Orchid Conference.
I know conferences do sound a bit boring, typically if you aren’t into orchids, but no worries because, there’s several side events which I believe would cater for everyone.
Among them are an orchid run, a fashion show, an orchid workshop and an agricultural bazaar and horticulture.
Top top that all off, some 300 local and foreign species of orchid would also be featured and exhibited at the DBKU Orchid Park in Petra Jaya for free!
This means you can see and enjoy unimaginable landscape from exhibitors which come from 13 different countries including Japan, China, Indonesia and Korea.
Oh, last but not least, the Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) Mayor, Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai, did say that Kuching had been chosen as the first city in Malaysia to host this conference after winning the bid held in Okinawa back in 2013.
That, by itself is a fact that makes me proud as a Malaysian.
For those interested to be part of the exhibition, registration is open until 30th June 2019 and you can contact BDKU to register, and do check out hotels in Kuching if you are coming. – KuchingBorneo.com
