Miri Country Music Festival to be grander next year

The third edition of Miri Country Music Festival (MCMF) next year promises to offer a brand new entertainment with some additions and changes to its concept.

Scheduled to be held on Feb 27 at Parkcity Everly Hotel Miri, the organisers are expecting a crowd of 3,000, with them also expecting to create history in the Malaysia Book of Records (MyBOR) for having the highest number of dancers in ‘Country Music Line Dance’ in conjunction with the MCMF.

The 3rd MCMF will also showcase country music bands from Nashville of USA (home of country music), Australia (which will participate for the first time), Singapore, Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur and Miri.

The one-day event will showcase a music workshop, country music line dance session, a food bazaar and musical concert.

The day’s programme will be from 2pm onwards with the opening of the bazaar, followed by music workshop before the concert kicks off at 5.30pm.

At the music workshop, participants learn to sing country tunes and play musical instruments as well as get up-close with band members.

Ticket sales are now open up to Sept 16 for early bird rate of RM60 (adult) and RM30 (child) inclusive of a drink.
After that, the tickets will be priced at RM80 for adult and RM40 for a child three to 12 years old.

The organiser invites other event organisers to use the festival as an avenue to promote their upcoming events.
Rurum Kelabit has agreed to take the opportunity to promote its ‘Pesta Nukenen’ (Bario Food Fair).

Tickets are now available in Kuching, Miri and Kota Kinabalu by calling 082-250400, 085-440288, 085-414300 or 014-6922757.
