Kuching South Car-Free Morning happening this Sunday

The Council of the City of Kuching South (MBKS) will be organizing it’s first Kuching South Car-Free Morning this Sunday, May 14, 2023.

According to Borneo Post, the event will be held from 6AM onwards from within MBKS building compound, and it will be officiated by Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Hui Kian.

During the Car-Free Day morning, activities such as the Leo Club Run by UCSI, Senamrobik, Fun Walk, Open Counter for Assessment Bill payment is expected to draw the crowd.

According to DayakDaily‘s article, the Fun Walk will cover 2.5km, with the route surrounding the MBKS iconic building.

The largest artwork in Malaysia, called ‘Turtle in the sea’, which was created using 400,000 buy-back plastic straws to create a sculpture will also be shown to public.

Kuching South Car-Free Morning will also have a closing prayer for World Peace 2.0 by Kuching Dhama Vijaya Buddhist Association, and the signing of MoU between Sunway Education Group Sdn Bhd and MBKS for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for Stutong Market.

The Kuching South Car-Free Morning coincides with a similar Kuching Car-Free Morning organized by the Commission of Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) at Padang Merdeka and its surroundings every first and third Sunday of the month.
