Kuching Pay and Go public parking: Scratch coupons no longer usable from November 1st

Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara (DBKU) and Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan (MBKS) today made a significant announcement which will impact the use of Kuching Pay and Go in public parking.

In a joint statement released online, both councils said that the new Kuching Smart Parking System will be effective November 1, 2025 with all existing parking coupons being discontinued.

This means that road users will have to use the new system by Pay and Go from November 1st with all systems managed by Kuching City Parking System Sdn Bhd (KCPS) being unusable from the said date.

Due to the most recent announcement, both DBKU and MBKS has made it known that physical parking coupons are also now eligible for refunds.

Previously, KCPS made it known that only those having credit balance in their BorneoParkKCH app could obtain refunds.

Members of the public who still hold valid coupons are encouraged to apply for a refund for their unused stock by claiming their refunds from Kuching City Parking System Sdn Bhd.

How to get refunds for your parking coupons

To process a refund, coupon holders must follow these steps and adhere to the strict deadline:

  1. Date to claim: The final day to submit a refund claim for valid coupons is November 30, 2025. The Councils strongly encourage the public to complete their claims early to avoid last-minute congestion.
  2. Present unused coupons: Applicants must present their remaining coupons that were purchased specifically between January 1, 2025, and October 31, 2025. Not all coupons are eligible as only coupons with the corresponding serial numbers listed below can be claimed:
    • 20 Cents AP05530001 – AP09530000
    • 50 Cents BB3426001 – BB3506000
    • 80 Cents CB0750001 – CB0780000
  3. Refund Location: Refunds can be processed at the following address: Kuching City Parking System Office Ground floor, Lot 9688, 9692, Jalan Datuk Abang Abdul Rahim, 93450 Kuching, Sarawak

The announcement means that those wanting to claim refunds have a month to do so with the coupons practically useless from November 1st, 2025.

In case you missed it, public parking which is managed by both DBKU and MBKS will be using the Pay and Go app from November 1st, a move which is in line with Sarawak’s desire to encourage Smart City and Digital Economy initiatives.
