Kuching is back green, business hours back to normal from 15 August
The whole of Kuching division is back in the green today after no local Covid-19 transmissions were reported for the past 14 days.
According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) press release, all districts in Kuching are now declared a green zone for Covid-19 infections.
Also declared a green zone was Serian district, directly making the whole of Sarawak now green with all divisions cleared as green as well.
With the all divisions now in the green, SDMC also announced that business operating hours in Kuching will revert back to its normal time from 15 August onward.
The change of business hours will also effect businesses in Serian Division and Samarahan Division which, together with Kuching Division, are groups as Zone 1 by SDMC.
Kuching was previously hit by the second wave of Covid-19 infections a fortnight ago with the Sentosa Cluster being one of the biggest ever recorded in Sarawak.
SDMC was quick to response to the jump in numbers and imposed strict travel restrictions and shorter business hours to curb the uptrend of infections.
This in turn saw the number of cases dwindle, with Kuching, and Sarawak now finally declared a green zone.
