Education Ministry closes 209 educational institutions and schools due to Covid-19
The Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE) has directed some 209 schools and institutions in Kuching District and its surrounding to close due to the rising level of Covid-19 in Kuching Division.
The closure will last for 14 days.
In a late night circular, the ministry named each and every one of the schools and institutions affected by the decision.
Also listed are schools in Siburan sub-district, and Padawan sub-district, while institutions such as Sarawak Matriculation College, and Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Batu Lintang were also included.
Private schools like St Joseph’s Private School and Lodge School are also listed and affected by the decision.

According to the statement, MOE wants all the institutions and schools listed to be closed from 30 October to 13 November.
Kuching district is now a red zone for Covid-19 cases with a Kampung Haji Baki placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).
