Construction of Citadines Langit Kuching hotel and condo begins

The Kuching skyline is about to be transformed with the commencement of construction on Citadines Langit Kuching.
The 28-level project is expected to take 48 months to complete, which puts the hotel and condominium to be ready by 2029.
This ambitious project by Hock Seng Lee (HSL) is not just another high-rise development; it’s a vision to create a dynamic, integrated space that blends residential, hospitality, and public areas.
At its core, Citadines Langit Kuching is a twin-tower development featuring luxury condominiums and Citadines serviced residences.

The hotel apartments by Citadines will fincorporate Kuching and Sarawak into their designs and layout with early drafts of the units showing Dayak motifs and Kuching’s map.
But what truly sets the whole project apart is the focus on creating a vibrant public realm. The three-story public plaza, designed to host everything from children’s playgrounds to art installations, reflects a commitment to “placemaking” that goes beyond mere buzzwords.
HSL’s collaboration with an international design team, including Singapore’s Light Collab and Salad Dressing, underscores the project’s ambition.
This collaboration has brought together diverse expertise to create a development that is both aesthetically striking and environmentally conscious.
Moreover, the project’s emphasis on sustainability, with a target for Green Building Index (GBI) certification, demonstrates a forward-thinking approach.
The incorporation of energy-efficient designs and green spaces aligns with the growing global focus on sustainable development.
Aside from changing Kuching’s skyline with a unique Dayak inspired building facade, Citadines Langit Kuching is also poised to make a significant economic contribution to the region.
The development is expected to generate numerous jobs, particularly in the tourism and food and beverage sectors, and HSL’s commitment to using local materials and contractors will further boost the local economy.
Just in case you are wondering, Citidines Langit Kuching has been identified as one of the six massive hotel projects which will be built in Kuching in the near future.

The ground breaking ceremony was attended by Ar David Ong (Project Architect), Desmond Douglas Jerukan (Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Heath, Housing & Local Government), Yu Ji (Director of Neat Plan, a member of HSL Group), Datuk Wee Hong Seng (Kuching City South Mayor), Mondi Mecja (Country General Manager at Ascott Malaysia), and Audrey Wan Ullok (Sarawak Tourism Federation President).
