Adopt an orangutan
The Adopt an orangutan programme does not mean you literally adopt one and bring them to your home.
It’s a virtual programme in which you make a donation towards a particular orangutan you have selected, with the money spent to care for the orangutans, educational activities which support orangutan conservation as well as food and medication for the orangutans.
Caring of the orangutans will be done by the Sarawak Forestry Department in selected sanctuaries in Sarawak.
You can choose any orangutan under the care of the department which has been listed for adoption on the Sarawak Forestry Department’s website.
That said, the programme therefore will help you help in orangutans conservation and rehabilitation while helping disseminate information about orangutan conservation activities carried out in Sarawak.

In case you don’t know, Orangutans are creatures that share about 97% of the same DNA with human and they are endemic to Borneo and Sumatra.
