SUKMA and Para SUKMA XXI Baton Relay happening this Sunday

3,000 expected at event along Kuching Waterfront

This Sunday, June 23, a number of roads in the Kuching city center will be closed to allow for the Kuching divisions SUKMA and Para SUKMA XXI Baton Relay.

The major event is scheduled to take place at the Kuching Waterfront, with the event starting at 5.30AM.

Sarawak is the host for the SUKMA and Para SUKMA XXI.

An article by New Sarawak Tribune said that organizers are anticipating over 3,000 people participants in the event, with Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg likely to attend.

To facilitate the event, the police will be implementing eight road closures gradually between 6 and 8.15 a.m. to guarantee the program goes off without a hitch.

The following routes would be closed during the event: Jalan Main Bazaar, Jalan Gambir, Jalan McDougall, Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, and Jalan Haji Taha.
