The mystery of the massive building complex currently being built, previously said to be an administrative complex or the official residence of Premier of Sarawak, has now been ‘unofficially answered’.
Accordingg to Sarawak Metro KUTS ART Green Line EIA Report, the complex will be the official residence of Premier of Sarawak.
The report made several references regarding the complex as there had been issues related to traffic and security since the proposed Menarta Pelita ART Station will be located nearby the residences.
The report stated that “The station at Menara Pelita is sited close to the official residence of the Premier of Sarawak, near the main entrance. The concern on the station sited close to the main gate of the Premier’s house is in terms of security.”
With the unofficial reveal, it is now confirmed that the under construction complex which some have dubbed as ‘Sri Pertiwi’ is indeed the official residence of the Premier.
The residence complex is hard to miss due to its size if you head to PUSTAKA Sarawak from the city as it is located beside Menara Pelita, visible from the main road.
It sits facing PUSTAKA Sarawak Park, and Menara Pelita is just beside the residence complex.
Considering the size of the complex as well as its proximity to the KUTS ART Station, it is widely expected that the official residence of Premier of Sarawak will be another tourist attraction in Kuching, while doubling as his official residence.
