About SMK Kanowit

SMK Kanowit was officially established in early 1978 to address the increasing student population in the Kanowit District, as the existing secondary school, SMK Sedaya, could no longer accommodate the growing numbers. The school is located along Jalan Durin, and is well-regarded for its popular achievements in both academics and co-curricular fields within the Sibu Division. SMK Kanowit frequently earns recognition for its high passing rates in public examinations, often outperforming other rural schools. It is also known for its active participation and success in sports, often clinching titles in district and divisional level competitions, particularly in traditional sports and team events.
