Sarawak Design Week 2023 to be first home-grown design-led expo in Malaysia

There would be 200 booths to check out at the up-coming Sarawak Design Week 2023 which will be happening from 13th to 16th February 2023, 10am to 6pm at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

The expo will be the first home-grown design-led expo in Malaysia once it starts.

About Sarawak Design Week 2023

According to a press release we received, those attending the expo can expect to find booths showcasing beautiful crafts, live demonstrations, traditional dances, and more during the whole event.

The event will also have an Indonesia pavilion which showcases exquisite designs in various forms which include fashion, furniture, crafts, interior décor, and a host of other design-related products and services.

In the middle of the main exhibition hall will be the SayD’Signers Pavilion.

This pavilion will showcase furniture design by 32 young designers from batches 1 to 4 of the SayD’Signers Sarawak programme.

Other exhibitors at the Sarawak Design Week 2023 include the Tun Jugah Foundation, Centexs Commercial Service Sdn Bhd, Saadiah Indah Sdn Bhd, Modern Woodworks Factory, Standard Kitchen Sdn Bhd, Yun Ming Wood Industries Sdn Bhd, Keabe Industries Sdn Bhd, Brown Furniture Sdn Bhd, Kayusar Sendirian Berhad, Hap Lee Fung Enterprise, Solid Timber, Kraftangan Malaysia, The Ranee Boutique Suites, Ran & Nong Creations, Sarawak Craft, Dorothy Arts & Crafts Associates, University Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), University Of Technology Sarawak (UTS), and Kolej Komuniti Miri with the Sarawak Furniture Industry Association (SFIA) also bringing in their very own exhibitors as well.

In case you are wondering, the Sarawak Design Week 2023 is organised by Saradec and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia.

It is endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP) as well as Ministry of International Trade & Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development (MINTRED), and supported by Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC).
