Sarawak considering Kuching-Terengganu direct flight
The Sarawak governement is considering establishing a direct flight from Kuching to Terengganu in the near future.
A news report by TVS quoted Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who is Sarawak Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts minister, as saying that the route would connect Kuching to Kuala Terengganu, or maybe Miri to Kuala Terengganu.
According to Karim, the route could be established using Sarawak’s own airline which is expected to operate in 2025.
Karim said that the Kuching – Terengganu direct flight would benefit both sides as it would help promote both Sarawak and Terengganu’s culture, food and uniqness.
In addition, Karim was also reported as saying that the his ministry is currently in talks with AirAsia to revive the Kuching-Langkawi route.
Kuching International Airport is currently served by Scoot, Fireflyz, Malaysia Airlines, MasWings, AirAsia, Batik Air and Royal Brunei.
