MYAirline considering a hub in Borneo Malaysia

MYAirline is currently considering opening its second hub in Borneo Malaysia.  MYAirline has its first hub is in KLIA Terminal 2.

According to an article by NST, the airline is considering either Kuching in Sarawak, or Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, for their second hub.

However, a report by Daily Express in April 2023 suggest that Kota Kinabalu had already been decided as its second hub since the Kuala Lumpur – Kota Kinabalu route is going ‘extremely strong’.

Regardless, the latest news by NST also mentioned that the airline feels having one hub in each Sabah and Sarawak would also be a possibility.

The comment comes as the airlines expands its routes and presence in the country and region, following its first international route to Thailand this today, flying to first to Suvarnabhumi Airport and then Don Mueang International Airport on July 1st.

Currently, MYAirline serves Borneo by flying from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu and Tawau in Sabah, while connecting Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, Sibu, and Miri.
