Kuching South wins Asean Clean Tourist City Standard Award again

Kuching South retains award since 2022

The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) has won the Asean Clean Tourist City Standard Award for the second time.

According to a news report by the Borneo Post, the award was for National Level 2024-2026, making it the second consecutive award won under the same category.

In 2022, Kuching South also won the same award for 2022 – 2024.

According to Borneo Post, the Asean Clean Tourist City Standard Award is part of the Asean Tourism Standard Awards.

It recognises local authorities for their outstanding services catering to tourists.

To win the award, local authorities need to gain good points in several criterias including environmental management, cleanliness, waste management, green spaces, health safety, awareness-building about environmental protection, urban safety and security, as well as tourism infrastructure and facilities.
