Kuching Jazz Festival 2022

The Kuching Jazz Festival 2022 (KJF2022) will be happening from 28 – 29 October 2022 after the festival was cancelled for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The festival was formerly known as the Kuching Waterfront Jazz Festival or KWJF prior to 2020.

Afgan to headline KJF 2022

The Borneo Post stated that the Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah had also announced that award-winning singers, Afgan, will be performing at this jazz event.

The article further mentioned that the Kuching Jazz Festival will again return as part of the What About Kuching calendar of events with performers from Singapore, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia also gracing this years line-up.

Organizers of the event are expecting 4,000 festival goers this year with talented Sarawakian Nisa Addina, chosen as this years artistic director.

The full list of artist for the KJF2022 was announced on 20 October 2022 and they feature the likes of Afgan (Indonesia), Hendri Rotinsulu and Jazmint Band (Indonesia), Noryn Aziz (Malaysia), Phum Viphurit (Thailand), Freyja Garbett (Australia), Dawn Wong & The Ark Royal (Singapore), Leon Sapphire (Malaysia), Ushera (Malaysia) and Sarawakian acts Ta’Dan and Ky Den.

The Kuching Jazz Festival 2022 is organised by Hemisphere Corporation Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of SEDC.

Kuching Jazz Festival 2022 ticket prices

One can obtain tickets to the event at just RM300 for two days by downloading the Insiders Club app, and buying the tickets before 6 September 2022.

Else, normal priced tickets at RM180 for a one-day pass and RM350 for a two-day pass are also available at www.kuchingjazz.com until 27 October 2022.

Gate prices after that will be RM200/day.
