Klinik Kesihatan Serian handed over to Health Department, set to be operational soon

The landscape of healthcare in Serian, Sarawak, is poised for a significant transformation with the impending operational launch of the Klinik Kesihatan (KK3) Serian (Serian Health Clinic).

This development follows the official handover of keys from the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) to the Sarawak State Health Department (JKNS) in a formal ceremony held recently, as reported by JKR Sarawak.

This key handover marks a critical preliminary step, preceding the formal project handover and acceptance, which will facilitate the end-users’ access to the facility for essential preparatory work, including cleaning, equipment installation, and operational setup.

Facilities in Klinik Kesihatan Serian

Facilities within this Serian clinic encompass a Mother and Child Health Unit, an Outpatient Department, a Pharmacy Unit, a Laboratory, an Emergency Unit, a Radiology Unit, and a Dental Clinic.

Notably, the clinic is equipped with specialized equipment that is currently scarce in existing government clinics within the Serian Division, specifically an X-ray machine and a Specialist Dental Chair.

The clinic’s radiological capabilities are also enhanced by a state-of-the-art Canon X-ray machine which is imported from Japan.

The dental unit is also furnished with five dental chairs, including a Specialist Dental Chair and four standard dental chairs, sourced from the Italian manufacturer Castellini.

The Specialist Dental Chair is distinguished by its integrated intra-oral camera and monitor, as well as an electrocautery set, which facilitates enhanced visualization of oral conditions and enables more intricate surgical procedures.
