Kampung Santubong Homestay top 5 in Malaysia

Kampung Santubong Homestay has been awarded the top five homestays in the Malaysia. The inaugural award was held in conjunction with the Asean Tourism Forum (ATF) 2016 that saw participation of homestays around Asean countries namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos People’s Democratic Republic, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

The award was announced at a ceremony held in the Philippines earlier this year for fulfilling the criteria set by the Asean Homestay Standard.

There are 35 homestays around Sarawak which are mostly run in the interior.

Aside from Kampung Santubong Homestay, the four homestays selected for the award out of 181 homestays in Malaysia are Homestay Miso Walai in Sabah, Homestay Banghuris in Selangor, Homestay Kpg Lonek in Negeri Sembilan, and Homestay Kpg Taman Sedia in Pahang.

Kpg Santubong Homestay has been operating as a homestay for over eight years, offering signature products like mock wedding, ‘bergendang Melayu’, silat and traditional games.
