Jeju Air connects Kota Kinabalu and Busan with direct flight

Kota Kinabalu, more popularly known as KK, now has two airlines flying direct to Busan following Jeju Air’s decision to add a direct flight from the South Korean city to Sabah’s capital city.

According to news by Borneo Post, the move comes following Jeju Air’s success connecting Incheon to Kota Kinabalu via direct flights.

With the new route, KK is now connected with 13 flights to South Korea with the Busan-Kota Kinabalu route flying six times weekly on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The Busan – Kota Kinabalu direct flight will depart Jeju Air departing Gimhae International Airport at 9PM with arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 1.20AM.

Borneo Post quoted Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Christina Liew as saying that South Korea is the third highest source of international arrivals for Sabah, with 124,631 tourist arrivals until August 2024.

Besides Air Jeju, Air Busan is the other Korean airline that flies the Busan – Kota Kinabalu route.
