About the Bintulu-Jepak Bridge
The Jepak-Bintulu Bridge is a significant infrastructure project in Sarawak spans the Kemena River, featuring a striking cable-stayed design.
The bridge’s construction, which began in 2019, faced challenges including delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s Movement Control Order (MCO).
Despite these setbacks, the project was completed, delivering a vital link that significantly reduces travel time between Bintulu Airport and the town center, while also enhancing accessibility to key economic areas such as Tanjung Kidurong and Samalaju Industrial Park.
Beyond its functional role in improving transportation, the bridge which some dub as the San Francisco Bridge is designed to be a tourist attraction.
