Hospital Sentosa to get 40 new parking bays and upgraded facilities by June

Hospital Sentosa in Kota Sentosa, will get better facilities this coming June 2025 when the planned upgrades of the healthcare facility is expected to be completed.

Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap, was reported by Borneo Post as having recently handed over the letter of award and project site to Megah Jaya Enterprise for the construction of 40 additional parking bays and facility upgrades on the hospital ground.

This RM400,000 project, funded under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) grant, aims to improve accessibility and enhance facilities at Sarawak’s only specialist psychiatric hospital.

During the handover, Yap mentioned that the upgrades were delayed for over a year due to bureaucratic delays.

He highlighted the critical issue of inadequate parking, which has caused traffic congestion and delays for patients and visitors should be lessen once the project is completed.

The upgrade of the the occupational therapy and recreation hall on the other hand will see the installation of air-conditioning, new aluminium windows, wiring, tiling, and partition works.

Additionally, earthworks, concrete drainage, premix road and parking area works, along with directional road and lane line painting, will also be carried out.

The report also said that the upgraded parking facility will also feature designated entry and exit points to improve traffic flow.
