Hilton Kuching Ramadan buffet 2024 offer exquisite dining experience

Last night, we experienced one of the most exquisite Ramadan buffet Kuching probably ever can have through Hilton Kuching’s 2024 Ramadan buffet which is themed “Merentasi Tradisi: Sajian Dulu dan Kini”.

It was held at the River View Cafe which overlooks the beautiful Kuching Waterfront. This venue is dedicated to what Hilton calls ‘Premier’ Ramadan buffet which will run from March 18 to April 6, 2024, 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM.

About Hilton Kuching’s Ramadan buffet 2024

The premium Ramadan spread for 2024, huge as it may be, offers a dining experience that not only celebrates the country’s rich heritage, but also introduces quality dining experience through the dishes and ingredients.

Hilton said that the nationwide campaign ‘Merentasi Tradisi: Sajian Dulu dan Kini’ by Hilton properties across Malaysia allows guest to appreciate the culinary evolution of Ramadan dishes through a diverse range of offerings, encompassing both timeless classics and modern culinary creations.

This campaign also highlights the hotel’s dedication to sustainable tourism practices by sourcing 95% of vegetables and prawns locally and ensuring the salmon is AMC/MSC certified.

For this campaign, Hilton Kuching offers a wide range of popular and delicious dishes like a selection of Seafood on Ice, Sushi, Maki & Sashimi Station, Fresh Caesar Salad Tossed in Parmesan wheel, Roasted Whole Lamb with Bukhari Rice, Nasi Kandar Lamb Shank, Bamboo Biryani Udang Galah, Char Grilled Australian Black Angus Tomahawk with Creamy Sarawak Black Pepper Sauce, Signature 12-Hour Braised Wagyu Brisket, Aneka Malay Kuih, Wagyu Roti Jon, and Homemade Traditional Arabic Sweets.

For the first time ever (in my experience), a Ramadan buffet also includes a Musang King Durian stall.  The stall is available from 8pm – 9pm during the buffet with the fruits freshly cut open.

Aside from that, kids from the premium Ramadan buffet will also be treated with a special gift pack to take home.

Our experience at the media preview of the buffer

Anyway, during the special media preview of the buffet last night Hilton Kuching indulged us with all the specialties for their coming Ramadan buffet.  You had the usual spread most Ramadan buffets enjoy, but Hilton Kuching definately raised up the bar with the highlight menu this time around.

To elevate the dining experience further, the session at River View Cafe also offered dedicated live stations and tableside service which were curated by Executive Chef Alex and Sous Chef, Chef Nazrin.

Here, we highlight the dishes which were memorable to us.

The Fresh Caesar Salad Tossed in Parmesan wheel was something unique to us since we have not seen it served in any previous buffets before in Kuching.  If you like a salad that is cheesy, this would fit your tastebuds.

The Bamboo Biryani Udang Galah were served in large bamboos, with the prawns (udang galah) coming out of the mix like ‘food gifts’.  This is because you wouldn’t know when to expect the prawn to drop onto your plate when the Biryani was poured on your plate.

It was also interesting to see tableside service in traditional attire, indirectly giving out that village vibe.

Also interesting to us was the delicious Signature 12-Hour Braised Wagyu Brisket which tender and juicy, perfect for beef lovers.

On a personal level, we really loved the Char Grilled Australian Black Angus Tomahawk with Creamy Sarawak Black Pepper Sauce as it had that nice spice taste we love and was equally tender and juicy when eaten.

Other memorable mentions include the Roasted Whole Lamb with Bukhari Rice, and Nasi Kandar Lamb Shank which were both also nicely cooked and perfect for those who love to enjoy lamb based dishes.

Also, the Musang King durians were specially flown in from Pahang, and they were served outside of the restaurant.

Ramadan buffet at the Grand Ballroom

Beside the Ramadan buffet at the River View Cafe , Hilton Kuching is also hosting a more affordable Ramadan dinner buffet at the Grand Ballroom from March 12 to April 8 from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM.

This particular buffet menu highlights include a Tiger Prawn Rojak Pasembor Live Station, Roasted Whole Lamb with Arabic Rice, Baked Salmon with Asian Spices, Slow Braised New Zealand Lamb Cutlet, Daging Salai Masak Lemak Cili Api with Pegaga, Butter Prawns, Aneka Traditional Malay Kuih, ABC and Cendol.
