First Borneocraft Global (BCG) to happen on 27 November 2024
BCG2024 intends to break Malaysia record
Sarawak Sarawak Craft Council (SCC) recently announced the first ever Borneocraft Global (BCG) Expo and Conference which will be held this year, in 2024.
According to TVS, the event which is themed’ ‘ Globalising Local’ will celebrate Borneo culture and heritage while showcase a variety of traditional crafts.
The event has been planned for 27 November to 1 December 2024 at the popular Kuching Waterfront with guest and participants expected from Brunei, the Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
Aside from showcasing culture, arts, crafts and heritage, the event also intends to break the Malaysia Book of Record by being the biggest gathering of beads handicraft maker at one place in Malaysia.
This will be done by having some 1,000 beads handicraft makers at the event. The event iteslf is ecpected to have 500 participants with 300 being the delegates of the conference.
Aside from the exhibitions, the Borneocraft Global (BCG) Expo and Conference 2024 also intends to offer a platform for craft makers to display their products, as well as exchange their respective knowledge on the skills.
This will be done through special workshops, MasterCraft Challenges, conferences and more.
According to the TVS article, the event is suppoprted by BESarawak, and Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak.
