Dayak Bidayuh National Association Headquarters (DBNA HQ): All you need to know
The Dayak Bidayuh National Association Headhuarters , or better known as DBNA HQ, is the main building for the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA).
It was first constructed as a wooden headquarters on a piece of land given by the Sarawak Government at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee in 1963 with the cost of RM13,000.00.
This old building was declared open 28th December 1963 by the first Chief Minister, Datuk Stephen Kalong Ningkan.
In 1982, another bigger headquarters was built at the cost of RM500,000, and this newer building was declared open on 3rd July 1982.
On 12th February 2009, the Malaysian government gave a grant for the construction of a multi-purpose hall and a new baruk which was completed two years later and now considered an icon to the headquarters.
What to expect
Aside from being the office of he Dayak Bidayuh National Association, the building also offers a wide range of facilities which can be used and rented out to the general public.
These include a multipurpose hall which can seat 650 people, a baruk hall which can seat 100 people, a mini hall for 100 people, conference rooms, lodge rooms and parking bays.

DBNA HQ location
The DBNA HQ is located in a secluded area in Kuching can be reached via private car or taxis. Due to its distance from the main road, using a bus to the location is not possible and one would need to walk in to reach the building.

The office of the association operates in a set of two as seen below.
- 8.30 am – 12.45 pm & 12.45 pm – 4.30 pm
- Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays
