Batu Kawa Mooncake Festival happening from 23 September

The annual Batu Kawa Mooncake Festival will be held from 23 September 2023 until 1 October 2023.

According to a post by Sarawak Deputy Premier, Dr Sim Kui Hian, the event will feature some 130 stalls this year which are operated by people of different race and religion.

Dr Sim also claims that the event itself is likely the second biggest food festival in Kuching after the Kuching Fair Food Fest, which is held annually during Kuching Festival.

This years edition will be its sixth of the Batu Kawa Mooncake Festival, and it will include many other events aside from the variety of food and drinks on sale during the week long event.

Among the highlights this year is the incorporateion of the Yue Lao statue together with its light show.

In addition, Dr Sim also adviced those coming to the festival to use additional parking space made available behind the shoplots and along the newly built Batu Kawa Riverbank Park.

These spaces available fare available at the “38 commercial” shops next to Batu Kawa main road and now conveniently connected by staircases of the phase 3 Batu Kawa Riverbank park.
