Batik Air connects Bintulu and Miri with direct flights
Batik Air will introduce direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Bintulu starting November 1, and direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Miri starting January 14, 2025.
According to a statement, the airline will have a frequency of 10 flights per week for Bintulu, while the Miri route will have 14 flights weekly.
Checks on its official website www.batikair.com.my show that all in economy flights to Miri start at RM199 while all in economy flights to Bintulu start from RM99.
TVS reported that the Sarawak government is also hoping Batik Air will introduce direct international flights between Kuching and Singapore in the near future.
Batik Air was previously known as Malindo Air in Malaysia.
The airline has direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Sibu, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, and Sandakan.
Once it starts the route between Kuala Lumpur and Miri next year, the airline will connect Kuala Lumpur to all major cities in the Malaysian side of Borneo.
Currently, both Miri and Bintulu are already connected by direct flights to Kuala Lumpur by Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia.

Miri on the other hand is known as the birthplace of the Malaysian petroleum industry, and has attractions like the Gunung Mulu, Niah national park, Niah Cave, Grand Old Lady, Tusan Beach and Canada Hill.
