ART vehicle arriving in Kuching this year
The much anticipated Kuching ART (Autonomous Rapid Transit) vehicle which will connect Samarahan and Kuching in the near future will be in Kuching in a couple of months.
According to a news article by The Borneo Post, the ART vehicle will arrive in the second quarter of 2023, with the system now undergoing Stage to of its Proof-of-Concept (POC) exercise.
The hydrogen powered vehicle should have already completed its stage one POC as it was detailed until middle of March in the news article.
The arrival of the vehicle in Kuching in the middle of this year will signal the beginning of Stage 2 of the POC exercise.
In case you are wondering, the prototype vehicle used during the POC exercise measures 30.2 metres in length, 2.65 metres in width and 3.7 metres in height.
The Borneo Post reports that the vehicle can reach 70 kilometres an hour and has a 241-passenger capacity.
