Alpro スギ (Sugi) Pharmacy opens 1st Borneo outlet in Kuching, Miri next

Alpro スギ (Sugi) Pharmacy, the leading Japanese drugstore in Southeast Asia, has officially opened its first outlet in Borneo, located at The Spring Mall, Kuching (Lot 132G, First Floor).

According to the brand, this marks a significant milestone in the brand’s mission to enhance community health and well-being with unique offerings that extend beyond traditional pharmacy services.

Alpro スギ (Sugi) Pharmacy in a statement says the new store offers a wide range of premium ‘Made in Japan’ health and beauty products, as well as innovative home living and baby care items.

Ph. Lim Yi En, Business Development Manager of Alpro スギ (Sugi), expressed excitement about the launch, stating, “Opening our first Alpro スギ Sugi Pharmacy in Borneo is an exciting milestone for us. This store is more than just a pharmacy – it’s a lifestyle destination. We are bringing authentic Japanese products and personalized services closer to the East Malaysian community, supporting their health and wellness needs.

In addition to the Kuching outlet, a second Alpro スギ (Sugi) Pharmacy is set to open in mid-January at Bintang Mall in Miri, further expanding the brand’s reach and bringing the best of Japanese healthcare to more communities.

The Sarawak outlets are designed to provide a lifestyle-focused experience, offering advanced services such as AI Skin Analysis to detect skin concerns, comprehensive health risk assessments, Tanita (Body Composition Test), and hair scalp analysis.

Professional pharmacists are available for ‘Minute Consults’ and in-store access to a panel of online doctors.

The stores also feature healthcare experts including nutritionists, dietitians, health advisors, and beauty specialists to empower customers with informed health and lifestyle choices.

Supported by Sugi Pharmacy, a leading Japanese pharmacy chain with over 2,000 outlets, Alpro スギ Pharmacy first launched in Petaling Jaya last year.

With two outlets in Petaling Jaya and one in Johor Bahru, the Sarawak stores are the latest addition to the growing presence in Southeast Asia, furthering the mission to share the best of Japanese healthcare in the region.

To celebrate its opening, the Kuching store is offering customers the chance to redeem an exclusive mystery gift, available while stocks last with terms and conditions applied.
