Sarawak government approves ART line to Santubong Peninsula
The Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) Line which will start construction this year will be extended until Santubong Peninsula.
DayakDaily reported on July 20th that the Sarawak government had approved what is known as the Green Line for the ART.
This line will enable the ART system to reach the Santubong Peninsula, adding to the Samarahan Line (Blue Line) and the Serian Line (Red Line).
According to the online portal, Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg announced the approval himself.
The report noted that the proposal of the extension was made by Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd, and it was approved to give this particular project under the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) a longer line under the ART alignment for Phase 1 of the KUTS Project.
Sarawak Metro is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC).
