MUJI set to open second outlet in Kuching
MUJI has not opened its doors in tHe Spring Mall just yet, but it was just announced that the popular household Japanese brand will be opening its second outlet in Vivacity Megamall, Kuching.
The announcement was made by the megamall on its social media, with the megamall not releasing any confirmed dates of the opening of what will be MUJI’s second branch in Kuching City.
Vivacity Megamall’s announcement only stated thet MUJI will be ‘opening soon’.
Anyway, prior to this MUJI, was first announced as one of tHe Spring Mall’s up-coming tenants, with the brand set to occupy parts of the mall which used to house Parkson.
The introduction of MUJI in tHe Spring Mall coincides with the mall’s recent renovations which saw massive changes to the mall layout, allowing more space for kiosk, as well as adding in more walkways and tenants.
Last week, MUJI had held interviews for prospective employees in tHe Spring Mall, signalling that the brand is close to opening its tHe Spring outlet.
The opening of MUJI in tHe Spring will mark the brand’s first venture into Sarawak, and also likely Borneo, with the brand already hinting it will open the store in January 2025 through it social media.
Personally, MUJI has long been touted to open an outlet in Kuching given its popularity among local Kuchinginites though having two MUJI stores in Kuching is quite unexpected, though much welcomed.
Aside from opening stores in Kuching, the brand is also expected to open an outlet in Kota Kinabalu.
