There would be only one flight a week servicing the Kuching – Kuala Lumpur route starting this week.

The Borneo Post reported that the Malaysian Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, had confirmed that Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) has given its assurance that flights between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia will continue in the third phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

According to the report Wee’s discussion with MAB’s senior management confirmed that the airline would continue providing one flight per week from Kuala Lumpur to three destinations.

One of the destinations in mention was the Kuching – Kuala Lumpur route, while the other two would be from Kuala Lumpur to Miri and Kota Kinabalu respectively.

Wee also elaborated that these services will be connected via MASwings from these destinations namely Miri-Bintulu-Miri; Kuching-Sibu-Kuching; and Sibu-Bintulu-Sibu.

The airline will add additional flights to Kuching, Miri or Kota Kinabalu starting next week, if there is demand.
