Kota Samarahan to have new boulevard-style road

Kota Samarahan would soon boast a new boulevard-style road with the length of about oned mile.

The new boulevard-style road would cost about RM100 million, and it will be located behind the Majlis Perbandaran Kota Samarahan (MPKS) building.

DayakDaily report elaborated that the boulevard-style road would be located strategically between two roads, along the expressway to Batang Sadong.

The same portal also reported that the initial cost of the project was RM20 million, but it had since increased to RM100 million.

In addition, The Borneo Post reported that the boulevard-style road will incorporate local culture features in addition to having trees and flowers.

The daily further saod that the boulevard would be managed by MPKS under the sponsorship of funds from the Integrated Regional Samarahan Development Agency (IRSDA).

It also stated that the project is a brainchild or the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari, and is part of the coastal and Greater Samarahan projects.

The Borneo Post also reports that the tender for the project will be done this year.
